Hakone

Quite a sad sight high up the mountain in Owakadani. Although there were people around....nobody was keen to fork out the 100yen to use the binoculars.....for obvious reasons. Click on the image to see what we SHOULD have been seeing.



We went for a wander from the top of the mountain past this FOUL smelling sulfur pit. Krysys face tells the story. It would have to be one of the most disgusting smells I have ever had the misfortune of inhaling!!



Got this photo of Me, Fiona (friend from work), Krys and Wop on the trail from Owakudani to Togendai.



Went wandering down the mountain for about an hour and ended up at the usually picturesque lake Ashi. The pirate ship runs like a ferry but stops running at 4:30 so we missed out. Click on the image to see what we SHOULD have been seeing.



I saw a lone fisherman out on Lake Ashi so I thought I'd get a photo. Upon returning home I further inspected the image and discovered something.......(please click picture)



Before we left we went for a wander near Hakone Yumoto station. Across this river is a hotel with Hot Springs but we were tired and it was expensive so we just left.
